New Kids on the Block

At our last race of the season, the Copper Dog in Calumet, MI, we brought back a couple of puppies we purchased from another Canadian musher who quite often wins his races.  Joanna is constantly upgrading her kennel by adding these new lines to her kennel.  She named the female Trinity and the male Matrix.  They are very nice dogs and will make a wonderful addition to her team.  They are in the top two pictures.  I can't believe how much they've grown in just a couple of months.

The tiny puppies are come from out two best dogs in the kennel, Oxi and Vader.  We acquired Oxi last year from the Buddy Streeper racing kennels, also a Canadian musher who usually wins all his races both in the U.S. and Canada.  And Vader is Joanna's main, hard driving leader on her team.  She was ecstatic to get a nice large litter of four males and two females.

The last picture was taken just a day ago when Joanna took out a team of dogs on the nearby trails.  Yes, it's still looking much like winter here, but it shouldn't last long with warm temps on the way this week.  Opening fishing will be here before you know it.

Last Blast of Winter

My last posting was March 22 and it's unbelievable that we are still posting them on April 12th.  Here we thought we would be having an early spring with such a nice, warm winter.  But it is looking promising this week as the temps are getting into the low 60's.  Guess what?  I'm heading out right now for a snowmobile ride, probably the last of the season.  Then I'm heading to Florida.  Yahoo!!
